Have you ever been up there during the winter? It's a scary hike going up that last little bit because the hand rails are buried in snow.

I lived in Glenwood about ten years ago and used to hike up there often. I stopped by there on a vacation in 2006 and was pretty upset at the whole thing. The lake has become more of a tourist attraction, has tons of people heading up there and none of them paying attention to preserving the area. I saw people swimming, walking out on 'the log', and going everywhere they shouldn't.

It's to the point where the national forest service needs to turn it over to an agency that has the resources to manage it.
